Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) is recruiting candidates through Group ‘A’ Gazetted Probationers Exam 2017-18. The exam also called Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) Exam takes place in three stages. The Prelims took place on 24th August 2020. The exam dates of KAS Mains are 13th February to 16th February 2021. KPSC Interview Dates are yet to be announced. KPSC KAS Exam Notification for the year 2022 has not yet been released by the commission on their official website.

The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) is mandated with the task of recruiting the State Civil Service officers.

In 1921, the “Central Appointment Board” was constituted in the state to advise the Government and other concerned authorities regarding the appointment of the state civil service officers.

Post-independence, the Karnataka State Public Service Commission came into being on May 18, 1951. The KPSC celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on May 18, 2011.

As per the Constitution of India, the Chairperson and other members of a State Public Service Commission are appointed by the Governor of the state. Members of a state public service commission hold office till they attain the age of 62 or complete their 6-year term, whichever is earlier. The KPSC comprises a Chairman and nine members.

Retired IAS officer Shadakshari Swamy is the President of KPSC. Swamy was appointed as a KPSC member in 2017. He is also the younger brother of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamy, the Seer of Suttur Mutt. Following the retirement of T Sham Bhat, the KPSC chairman post has been vacant.

The KPSC conducts competitive and departmental exams for filling up vacancies in Group A, B, C posts. The posts include both Technical and Non-Technical designations.

  3. Sub-Inspector (Excise)
  4. Head Master and Teacher (RPC)
  5. Junior Training Officer
  6. Drug Inspectors
  7. Assistant Secretary

  9. Panchayat Development Officer
  10. Assistant Conservator of Forests
  11. Gazetted Probationers

The commission has released the notification for the year 2017-18 for the gazetted probationers exam in January 2020. The KPSC KAS notification 2022 has yet not been released. The details of the KAS notification will be updated in the linked article.

Candidates who are preparing for KAS 2022 must know that KAS exam pattern has been changed. Optional Papers are omitted from the KAS Mains examination.

The KAS Mains 2017-18 dates are out. The Mains examination of KAS Gazetted Probationer Examination 2017-18 will take place between 13th February and 16th February 2021. There are no optional papers in the KPSC Mains Exam. Refer to KAS Exam Pattern to understand Mains exam.
